Meet Tiffinie McAfee

For City Council

Hello friends and neighbors,

My name is Tiffinie McAfee, and I’m honored to announce my candidacy for Mona City Council. I may be a relatively new face to some, but I’ve proudly called Mona home for the past five years—and in that time, I’ve come to deeply love this community and the people who make it special.

I’ve been married to my best friend, Rob McAfee, for 25 wonderful years. Together, we’ve raised five children and are now the proud grandparents of two. Family is at the heart of everything I do, and it’s that same spirit of commitment and care that I want to bring to serving our city.

For the past 20 years, I’ve successfully owned and operated my own business. That experience has taught me resilience, hard work, and how to listen—really listen—to people’s needs and find smart, workable solutions. I bring that same grit and can-do attitude to everything I take on.

Living in Mona has awakened a passion in me for the land and the people. I’m learning the art of gardening and beekeeping (with a few stings along the way!), and I’ve had the privilege of serving both here at home and abroad. Whether it’s lending a hand at a community event or just chatting with a neighbor on their porch, I love being involved and staying connected.

I’m not afraid of hard conversations or constructive criticism—because I believe that’s how good ideas grow. I’m a firm believer in finding solutions, not just pointing out problems. If something needs fixing, let’s roll up our sleeves and fix it—together.

I’m running because I care deeply about Mona’s future. I want to help preserve what makes our town special while ensuring we’re ready for the challenges and opportunities ahead. If you see me around town, stop and say hello—I’d love to hear what’s on your mind.

Let’s build Mona’s future, one honest conversation at a time.

“Rooted in Real Life ~ Growth with Grit and Grace”

Running a household, raising a big family, and keeping a business afloat for two decades has taught me how to be resourceful. Mona’s budget may be tight, but I believe we can make smart, responsible choices that protect our future and our quality of life. Talk is easy. What Mona needs now are doers. I’m not here to argue—I’m here to listen, learn, and lead. I want to take the concerns I hear at the post office, at church, or over the fence—and help turn them into real, workable actions that make life better for all of us.  We can’t keep kicking the can down the road. In my five years in Mona, I’ve seen real problems go unaddressed. I believe it’s time for practical, honest solutions.

Water is life, and we need to treat it like the precious resource it is. I want to work with local farmers, residents, and experts to find practical, common-sense ways to protect our water supply—without putting the burden on those who rely on it to make a living.Let’s be proactive, not panicked.

I know many of us are nervous about growth—and I get it. We love our small-town feel. But saying 'no' to everything won’t stop change from knocking on our door. I believe we can shape the kind of growth that fits our values, preserves our heritage, and strengthens our future—if we lead with intention.

My Priorities

📌 What I Plan to Do on Mona City Council

Our town deserves leadership that listens, communicates clearly, and works for everyone. These are the priorities I will bring to the table:

Improve communication and transparency
I’ll make it a priority to keep residents informed—no more quiet decisions behind closed doors. I’ll advocate for better notice, more community input, and open dialogue on all major city matters.

Reconnect the community
People feel left out and unheard. I want to restore trust by showing up, listening often, and creating real opportunities for residents to be involved in decisions that affect them.

Address bullying—at every level
Whether it's kids at school or adults in public spaces, I believe respect should be the standard. I will support community programs that promote inclusion, education, and kindness—and stand against intimidation in any form.

Create opportunities for youth
Our kids deserve more to do than just wait to grow up and leave town. I’ll work to bring more youth activities, recreation options, and community spaces that give them a reason to stay, grow, and thrive here.

Support responsible growth to increase tax revenue
We need more tax revenue—but not at the cost of our small-town values. I’ll support smart, planned growth that fits Mona, supports local businesses, and helps relieve the financial burden on residents.

“Real change doesn’t come from sitting on a panel—it starts with front porch conversations and good, honest listening.”

On August 12, 2025, vote for TIFFINIE MCAFEE for CITY COUNCIL.
